Since Ohio is a state where the majority of its population is an aging one, our workforce has to accommodate the non-traditional worker. As such, most seniors in Cleveland, though eligible for retirement, are opting not to due to financial necessity. Some of our Clevelanders are coming back into society from incarceration via reentry programs. Lastly, some of our high school students are not interested in Higher Education. With these three factors, we have to advocate for blue collar employment and trade certifications. We have to turn our local economy from one of a service based foundation, to one of commerce and skilled labor once more.
